Windows xp do not come with stylish fonts even in system applications. And also they haven’t given any application or setting to change the default system font. But you can still change it just by using Windows Registry Editor which comes with windows installation. Here we go
Tutorial
  • go to start menu
  • click on “Run…”

  • Now type as “regedit” in the text box of Run dialog
  • Now click OK
  • you will see a windows called windows registry editor
  • Now follow me as below
  • HKEY_LOCALMACHINE  >  SOFTWARE  >  Microsoft  >  Windows NT  >  Current Version  >  FontSubstitutes
  • now you will see some font options
  • Find MS Shell Dlg and MS Shell Dlg2 from there
  • Now edit the default font value in those 2 strings to your favorite font name(the font should exist on system fonts directory which is C:WindowsFonts) – [I have used Segoe UI font here,You can use any font that you have in your computer]
  • Now its done already but you do have to restart your PC to see changes.
